A Look at South Korea’s Resilience in Photos

In Seoul, the seam at the convergence of past and future is visible everywhere: a high-rise luxury apartment next to a Joseon Dynasty-era palace gate, tourists in traditional Hanbok wielding selfie-sticks, and even the Seoullo bridge, which successfully converted a 1970 highway project into a lush garden-walkway this year. It takes only a few days roaming the city to witness the incredible resilience and progress of a society which was, less than a century ago, torn completely apart by war.
